Donate to the Indonesian Earthquake and Tsunami Appeal Today

All Australians are aware that a 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit Sulawesi on Friday 28 September, triggering a powerful tsunami wave. Many people are confirmed dead and the toll is rising. Thousands more need urgent help. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has said that “our latest information on Sulawesi is 1,424 deaths, over 2,500 severely injured, 113 missing and over 70,000 displaced. This is a heartbreaking tragedy.”

The Australian Mutuals Foundation has activated its emergency / disaster relief donations portal so as to be able to accept donations from the members of Australian mutual organisations. The AMF will re-direct 100% of donations received to the Australian Red Cross to provide humanitarian support to people and communities affected by the Indonesian earthquakes and tsunami.

Red Cross support may include:

  • emergency relief and recovery assistance such as food, water, sanitation, shelter and health initiatives including blood
  • sending specialist aid workers to assist in initial assessment, relief, recovery and disaster and crisis management operations
  • working in affected areas to strengthen local resilience and deliver effective relief and recovery services.

Your support today can make a huge difference in the long recovery process – donate now by clicking through to the Australia Mutuals Foundation.
